Clover Agency Joins Forces with Get Focused Stay Focused, Overseeing $700k Funding
Green Futures LA: Empowering a Sustainable Workforce
Green Futures LA, a new workforce training and career development program, is set to launch in Los Angeles County later this October. Funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity's High Road Training Partnerships (HRTP) Fund, the initiative aims to create equitable opportunities in the green economy.
The Clover Agency, a program management consultancy with a commitment to equal opportunities, is managing the Green Futures LA program. They will coordinate partnerships, oversee training program development, and facilitate connections between trainees and employers.
The program is designed to prepare opportunity youth, particularly justice-involved and disconnected individuals aged 16 to 24, for careers in green construction, solar energy, water infrastructure, and sustainable landscaping. With a goal of serving 55 participants, the program aims to place at least 75% of participants into employment or pre-apprenticeships.
The HRTP Fund, which provides over $17 million to build worker-centered training models promoting equity, sustainability, and job quality, is funding the Green Futures LA initiative. The program is also supported by partners such as Pathway to Careers, Gaia Utility 360, and other local employers.
Green Futures LA is part of LA County's broader commitment to climate resilience, sustainability, and equitable economic growth. By fostering job creation in sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure, the program supports the county's environmental and economic goals.
In addition to technical skills training, the program offers pre-apprenticeship training, trauma-informed case management, certifications, jobsite tours, mentorship, and career planning. This holistic approach aims to equip participants with the skills and support they need to succeed in their careers.
The Clover Agency, in partnership with Get Focused Stay Focused, is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of many young individuals in Los Angeles County. As the program begins participant recruitment, the future of a more sustainable and equitable workforce in LA County is on the horizon.
- The Green Futures LA program, designed for opportunity youth, will focus on careers in cloud (renewable energy, solar energy, water infrastructure, and sustainable landscaping).
- Green Futures LA aims to integrate environmental-science, personal-growth, and business concepts into their training, preparing participants for long-term careers and finance stability.
- As part of the education-and-self-development provided, the program will offer resources such as certifications, mentorship, and career planning to ensure success.
- The initiative also prioritizes infrastructure development, with a goal to create equitable opportunities in the green economy and support LA County's goal of climate resilience.
- As the green economy evolves and finance nestles itself into these developing sectors, the Green Futures LA program will play a crucial role in providing the knowledge and skills needed for environmental-science careers in Los Angeles County.
