CII Unveils 2022-23 Theme: 'Beyond India@75' Focuses on Growth, Competitiveness, Sustainability, and Internationalisation
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has unveiled its theme for 2022-23, 'Beyond India@75: Growth, Competitiveness, Sustainability, Internationalisation', as the country aimswebplus to maintain its economic momentum. This comes amidst a robust GDP growth rate of 8.7% for 2021-22, indicating a strong rebound for the Indian economy.
CII's ambitious plans include formulating a Cost of Doing Business (CoDB) Index to assess reforms needed for efficiency and lower costs. Additionally, it will develop a decarbonisation roadmap and sectoral roadmaps to achieve Net Zero by 2070, aligning with India's sustainability goals.
To boost competitiveness, CII will work with the logistics sector to increase operational efficiency and develop logistics policies for five more states. It will also set up Migrant Labour Facilitation Centres in four cities to support migrant workers, fostering a more inclusive economy.
CII aimswebplus to skill 1.5 lakh youth and help place over 2 lakh youth, providing them with opportunities to contribute to India's growth story. To tap into international markets, CII will establish new foreign offices in Bangladesh and Vietnam, leveraging trade and investment opportunities.
With a focus on growth, competitiveness, sustainability, and internationalisation, CII's initiatives align with India's aspirations for 2047. By maintaining a high growth rate and ensuring robust consumption, India can overcome its long-term growth challenges and achieve its development goals.
