Brew-Team at Leaky Cauldron's Return: Installment Two
In the heart of Hellgate High School, a coffee cart has become a beloved gathering spot for students and staff alike. Each day, volunteers like Kristy Pilgrim, Kelsey McCall, Libby Schneider, Sue Bell, and Jennifer Savage give up their time to serve hot beverages and spread a little joy.
Kristy Pilgrim, a regular Tuesday volunteer, finds her favourite part of the coffee cart is the joy on the sleepy faces of students in the morning as they receive their caffeine fix. Pilgrim's two children also attend Hellgate High School, making the coffee cart a family affair.
McCall, who joined the team last year, enjoys working with her friends at the cart and finds it a great way to engage with the school community. McCall's eldest child and middle child are also students at the school.
Schneider, an alumnus and former coach of Hellgate High School, works Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30. Schneider has a sophomore at the school and is involved in the community through the coffee cart. Fun Facts about Schneider include her fear of spiders and sharks, and her love for dad jokes.
Sue Bell, who works Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30, enjoys seeing the different kinds of students at the coffee cart and giving them something that makes their day a bit more fun. Bell has a Junior at Hellgate High School and another who will be attending next year.
Jennifer Savage, who works Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30, is motivated by the desire to be part of her daughter's high school experience after the pandemic. Savage's motivation for volunteering at the coffee cart reflects the general understanding that volunteers are often driven by a desire to support their school community, engage socially, gain experience, or contribute to fundraising efforts.
Libby Schneider, who also works Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30, shares in the joy of the coffee cart. Schneider grew up skiing the moguls in Jackson, Wyoming, and enjoys the company of the students at the cart. Fun Facts about Schneider include her love for dad jokes and the bears in her backyard.
The volunteers at the coffee cart bring a sense of community and positivity to Hellgate High School. Whether it's a quick chat, a friendly smile, or a hot cup of coffee, these dedicated individuals make a difference in the lives of the students and staff they serve.
