Princeton University Seeks New Correspondents for Undergraduate Research Blog
Princeton University is inviting applications from students with diverse research interests for the role of correspondents for its undergraduate research blog. The blog serves as a platform for students to reflect on and share their research experiences with the wider community.
For the 2018-2019 academic year, the university is hiring new correspondents. Interested students are requested to send a cover letter, a sample post, and a copy of their resume to Dr. Poussart at [email protected] before noon on April 25.
The role of a correspondent involves asking questions, being curious, and being creative, fundamental aspects of the research process. While the exact application process for this specific role may not be extensively detailed online, general knowledge suggests that application processes for similar roles often involve submitting an application or interest form on the blog’s or relevant department’s website, including personal information, writing samples, and sometimes an interview or writing test.
It's worth noting that undergraduates at Princeton are considered researchers. The research process is about exploration and not always knowing where you'll end up. Completing regular course work can be considered research, and research doesn't have to be done in a lab, published in a journal, or begin with a hypothesis and end with answers.
More information about the application process can be found on the Office of Undergraduate Research website's call for applications.
By becoming a correspondent, students have the opportunity to document their research journey, share their experiences, and inspire others to embark on their own research adventures.
