Asia Pacific Students Triumph in FedEx/JA ITC with Eco-Friendly Innovations

Six talented students from across Asia Pacific have triumphed in the 2025 FedEx/JA International Trade Challenge (ITC) Asia Pacific finals. The competition, which involved over 4,700 students from nine markets, aimed to foster creativity, determination, and a global mindset in the next generation of business leaders.

The challenge required participants to develop a market entry strategy for an eco-friendly product using upcycled textiles in France. Team Spicy Noodles, comprising Jamie Smith from South Korea and Kathy Nguyen from Vietnam, emerged victorious with their eco-friendly upcycling brand. They were joined by Team Innovement, featuring Filipino student Janelle Anika S. Tan and Hong Kong SAR's Royden So, who presented a sustainable smart wall panel made from discarded textile waste. Another runner-up was Team ReTex, with Thailand's Panasarn Traithavil and Vietnam's Lan Anh Phan, who proposed a solar-powered solution integrating upcycled materials.

Since its inception 19 years ago, the FedEx/JA ITC has introduced over 50,000 students across Asia Pacific to business, economics, and international trade. Kawal Preet, President of FedEx Express Asia Pacific, officiated at the live finals in Singapore on September 8, 2025, and presented awards to the winning teams. He emphasized the importance of empowering young entrepreneurs to think globally and create sustainable solutions for real-world challenges.
