Mark your calendars, folks! From the 26th of May to the 1st of June, the region of Novosibirsk isall set to host the Week of Childhood. The grandest happenings are scheduled at the R.A. Shilov Zoo on June 1st, ready to captivate children and parents alike from 11:00 to 16:00.
Expect a whirlwind of excitement, as we've got a jam-packed program lined up for you! From family concerts and creative workshops, sports and intellectual tournaments, flash mobs, quizzes, and exhibitions, there's something for everyone. In total, over 700 activities will take place throughout the region, including open days at social institutions.
Eugenia Marushchak, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development of the region, shared her thoughts, "The Week of Childhood is a pivotal event for every child in our region. With a focus on family-orientated leisure, we offer a platform where everyone can participate in fun events, creative competitions, and sports contests. It's a fantastic opportunity to fortify family bonds and establish new traditions of joint leisure."
Meanwhile, Vladimir Shukhin, the Deputy Minister of Education, updated us on the preparations for the summer season at a press conference. Approximately 948 day camps will open in the region this year, with most of them relying on schools and institutions of additional education. It's estimated that more than 70,000 children will enjoy their summer vacation there.
Special consideration is being given to children of SVO participants, children from large and low-income families, as well as children with disabilities. The first platforms are set to launch on May 26, with the main season kicking off on June 2.
