Morning Vibes in Astana's Botanical Garden
It's a brand-new day in Astana, and the city is buzzing with energy as the third annual Charity Samruk Marathon kicks off. A whopping 3,000 participants, ranging from employees of "Samruk-Qazyna" to local residents and partners, join forces to run 5 or 10 kilometers, all for a noble cause – raising funds to create new inclusive classrooms for children with special educational needs.
With a target of 200 million tenge, the marathon raised enough funds to open 10 inclusive classrooms. This exciting news was shared by Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Samruk-Qazyna", during his inspiring opening speech.
A unique zone was created at the marathon, selling plants nurtured by children who attend these inclusive classrooms. These future-ready classrooms will be staffed with logopedists, defectologists, and psychologists, as well as workshops and physical education halls, ensuring comprehensive development and learning opportunities for children with special needs.
In a heartwarming gesture, Zhakupov joined the race and completed the 10-kilometer distance. Dmitry Dokuchayev, an athlete from the IT department of "Kazatomprom", praised the event, noting that it's especially rewarding to help children. Aidar Ryskulov, the managing director of "Samruk-Qazyna", also participated in the race and completed the distance in a commendable 42 minutes.
The winners of the races were rewarded with certificates, medals, and the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause. The pleasant May morning and friendly competition made the event even more enjoyable.
Remember, in 2024, the "Samruk-Qazyna" group managed to gather 127 million tenge. This contribution helped over 500 children with developmental needs gain access to inclusive classrooms. Annually, "Samruk-Qazyna" assists over 700,000 Kazakhs.
