In response to the growing demand for skilled support and technical staff within the enterprise, Apple has unveiled updated professional training and certifications for IT support and management.

The training, available now, covers Apple device support, deployment, and management. Each course is designed to build on skills and concepts as the user progresses, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned professionals.

The training is self-paced and accessible online, offering flexibility for learners. Apple has partnered with Ed Farm, an education nonprofit based in Birmingham, Alabama, to offer prep courses for Apple's certification exams. Additionally, Apple is collaborating with community colleges and universities to offer on-campus prep courses for the Apple Certified IT Professional badge.

Apple's Deployment and Management course covers configuring, managing, and securing Apple products using mobile device management (MDM). The course includes approximately 13 hours of content and covers developing a deployment strategy, using Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager, and configuring devices with an MDM solution.

To demonstrate competency and earn certification from Apple, users can take two new exams. Upon successful completion, they will receive the Apple Certified IT Professional certification. Apple is also offering scholarships to cover the cost of the exams for participating students at its CEI partner institutions.

Moreover, Apple has partnered with the Mac Admins Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of making the profession accessible to all and maintaining affordable access to community resources. The Mac Admins Foundation is offering vouchers to applicants with financial need for the new Apple exams.

The demand for IT professionals is on the rise, with job growth in computer and information systems projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2020 to 2030, according to data provided by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Companies like Ford are seeking to hire talent to manage their Apple products.

With the launch of these new training and certification programmes, Apple is taking a significant step towards addressing the growing need for skilled IT professionals and providing opportunities for individuals to advance their careers in the tech industry.
