All Essential Information Regarding School Surveillance Recordings (PBR)

At our innovative school, we've established our very own in-house record label, the PBR, designed to spotlight our students' creativity and music. Our dedicated team of professionals, boasting A&Rs, marketing gurus, and career advisors, relentlessly strive to nurture budding talent, assist students in their artistic growth, and establish crucial industry connections.

Based at our Music School in London, our roster includes a variety of students, many pursuing esteemed degrees like Leah Haworth and Sam The Zoologist. These include the Music Business Degree and Music Production & Sound Engineering Degree. Interested in enhancing your skills in areas such as vocal performance, radio broadcasting, software engineering, songwriting, or more? Be sure to check out our school's London website right here!

As the only London music institute equipped with its own record label, we offer students a unique chance to experience the artist lifestyle within a label. We support our students by releasing their music, offering exposure within the industry, and aiding them in achieving their musical aspirations. Each year, we throw an exclusive networking night where students can socialize with the PBR team, gather valuable industry insights, and watch performances from PBR artists and fellow students. Take a look at our PBR showcase video below to get a taste of it!

So, let's break down the PBR process and explore how you can get involved with our label!

Step 1: Engage in Mentorship

Enter the PBR mentorship program by submitting your demo to [email protected] or arranging a 1-on-1 session with our mentors, Kwame Kwaten or John Fortis. You'll then be contacted with guidance from Kwame or John. Standout candidates will move forward.

Step 2: Teamwork with a Producer

Selected candidates will collaborate with producers recommended by mentors. The PBR team assess these songs, and co-founders, Rob Cowan and Jules Brookes, make the final decision on approval. If approved, a producer and the artist will negotiate a fair 50/50 royalty deal, with mastering rights returned after a 7-year term. This artist-friendly setup benefits all parties involved.

Step 3: Artist Signing

After a contract is formalized, the artist signs and releases their song through the PBR, gaining exposure through our blog, website, and social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Step 4: Full Access to the PBR Team

The artist signs onto a project basis with PBR and is supported by our label team. They develop their artistic and professional skills, and we manage all projects, collaborations, marketing, and more. Weekly meetings and communications are held, providing opportunities like showcases, live performances, and competitions.

Want to become a part of the PBR family? Submit your demo to [email protected] or book a 1-on-1 session with mentors Kwame Kwaten or John Fortis. We can't wait to hear your music and join you on your professional journey!
