Accreditation of our institution has been renewed for the fifth consecutive time

The distance learning institution you're familiar with has recently secured its fifth renewal of accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) on July 18th, 2025. This accreditation, recognised by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, is a testament to the institution's commitment to quality education and adherence to rigorous standards.

Accreditation in U.S. higher education is a voluntary process of quality assurance and school improvement. Educational programs are evaluated by educators from other institutions to ensure faculty are appropriately qualified and course outcomes are rigorous and relevant. Evaluators visit the institution and interview staff, faculty, and students to gain an understanding of how classes are delivered and graded.

The DEAC, a private, non-profit organization, operates as an accreditor of institutions that primarily offer distance education. Accreditation by DEAC is a requirement for any college wishing to participate in Federal Student Aid programs and military student education benefits. This accreditation is especially beneficial for our institution, as it is the only accreditor with specialized knowledge of distance education.

Accreditation plays a key role in advancing quality throughout the higher education system. It provides quality assurance to students and other schools and colleges, affirming the quality of programs and the value of degrees or other credentials earned. Accreditation challenges an institution to engage in self-evaluation and to listen to feedback from external educators.

Our institution has been accredited by the DEAC since 2001 and by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools since 2006. As we enter a new accreditation cycle, we look forward to offering exciting new programs and innovative ways to advance our learning community, built on the strong foundation of DEAC accreditation.

Accreditation is crucial for distance education institutions in the United States because it validates their academic quality, financial stability, and adherence to educational standards, thereby protecting students from diploma mills and ensuring the credibility of the degrees awarded. Accreditation also enables students to access federal financial aid, transfer credits between institutions, qualify for industry certifications, and improve employability post-graduation.
